Jean Redpath will receive a Doctor of Music honorary degree at the graduation ceremony on 17 June.
Edinburgh-born Jean Redpath is to be recognised for her contribution to Scottish music and culture.
The 71-year-old has worked with Bob Dylan and Rambling Jack Elliot during a career spanning almost 50-years.
She also has honorary degrees from the Universities of Stirling and St Andrews and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
Jean Redpath first learned traditional Scottish music from her parents.
She took this interest further during her time at Edinburgh University, before moving to the United States, aged 24, in 1961.

There she worked with some of the main players of the folk revival, like Bob Dylan.
From 1972 to 1976 she was artist-in-residence at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
She has also won widespread acclaim for her work recording the songs of Robert Burns, with composer and arranger Serge Hovey.
Since 1979, Redpath has been a lecturer at the University of Stirling.
Glasgow University vice principal, Graham Caie, said: "Jean Redpath has made a huge contribution to the performance of Scottish folk song.
"The university is delighted to award her an honorary degree in recognition of her contribution to Scottish culture and broadcasting."
One of Scotland's greatest folk dancers is to be awarded an honorary degree from the University of Glasgow.
